World champion Rob Cross will be going for a new title in August - in fishing.

The 27-year-old has been confirmed as part of the field for the PDC Fishing Championship. The annual charity event brings together stars from darts and other sports to try their hand at competitive angling. This year's event takes place on August 28 at Gold Valley Lakes in Aldershot. Parkinson's UK and Haven House Children's Hospice are the chosen charities in 2018.
Cross is one of three Premier League participants gunning for the title. Gary Anderson and Michael Smith are, like Cross, appearing in the event for the first time. Fellow PDC ace Darren Webster joins them, but the Demolition Man is no rookie. The popular Norfolk thrower won the inaugural Fishing Championship in 2013. Darting legend Bobby George completes the list of competitors to have toed the oche professionally.
PDC chairman Barry Hearn is also included on the roster. So too are snooker legends Steve Davis and Mark Williams, plus former Olympian Dean Macey. Due to the event's ongoing popularity, it will again be televised.
