Gary Anderson brings Paul Lim's resurgent run to an end with the Singapore Slinger coming so close to perfection

Gary Anderson has brought Paul Lim's resurgent run to an end defeating 'The Singapore Slinger' 4-1 in sets. The story of the game though was Lim coming so close to perfection missing D12 to become the first man to get a 9 darter in both BDO and PDC World Championships and even Anderson even admitted he wanted it to go in and that he is one of only 5 players he properly respects.
Lim hit six 180's compared to four from 'The Flying Scotsman' and there was only one ton plus finish with Anderson hitting a 104 in a match with both men hitting just under the hundred mark with Gary ending off on 97.46 and Lim on 90.60 as his run has come to an end as he couldn't repeat the feat he completed at the World Cup of Darts a few months prior where Singapore beat Scotland.
Anderson will now take on the winner of Steve West and Jermaine Wattimena in Round 3.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
