As well as two majors, the UK Open and the World Matchplay, Anderson has taken the Champions League of Darts and US Darts Masters titles. Now the two-time
PDC world champion is gunning for the
World Grand Prix. The Flying Scotsman missed last year's event in Dublin, but reached the final in 2016. That campaign, ending in defeat to Michael van Gerwen, was his best to date. Anderson has won plenty of big trophies, but the Grand Prix isn't among them. It's time for that to change, according to the Scot.
"I missed it last year and it will be great to get back there," Anderson told the PDC website.
"I'd love to win it and I always enjoy playing in Ireland."
First up for the 47-year-old is a
meeting with Austrian Darts Masters holder Jonny Clayton. For the holder of 12 major titles and arguably the best player in world darts at present, there are no opponents to feat. That said, he has plenty of respect for the Welshman.
"It will be a very hard game against Jonny Clayton. He's probably the best Welsh player at the moment, he's a nice bloke and class on the board," Anderson said.
"He's impressed me in the last couple of years and if he plays the game he can play he's one of the best."
Asked about his stunning 2018 form - including victory in Brighton last weekend - Anderson was typically nonchalant.
"I'm over the moon to win the Champions League, it was a hard weekend and I struggled at times but came good in the end.
"I just turn up and play my game but it's going alright so far this year," he deadpanned.
