The first of that quintet is Daryl Gurney, who enjoyed a very successful week in Rotterdam. There hasn't been much turnaround between that and the German Darts Championship though. His first hurdle is Andy Boulton, whose first
European Tour outing of the year started with a decent win over Josh Payne. Nathan Aspinall averaged close to 105 in his first round win over Mike Holz. It was the highest average of the first round, and form the UK Open champion can turn into tournament momentum. Joe Cullen will be wary. This one could be seriously entertaining. Rob Cross is showing the sort of form that suggests he'll be winning a few trophies this year. A first European Tour title will be high on his agenda, and now is as good a time to do it as any. Ron Meulenkamp could drop a bomb on his title hopes. Peter Wright follows, and will play 'Goldfinger' himself, Andrew Gilding. The last time Stephen Bunting met Dimitri van den Bergh on a stage, it was the Grand Slam of Darts, and van den Bergh piled in a nine-darter en route to victory. Bunting now gets his chance for revenge, but won't feel like a strong favourite after watching the Belgian perform well in the Premier League. Mensur Suljovic will take on rapid-fire star Ricky Evans in a match that should provide plenty of fireworks. Then Michael van Gerwen enters the fray looking for yet another European Tour title. He meets Keegan Brown, who edged out Madars Razma in a decider. The final tie of the Saturday evening session pits Dave Chisnall against compatriot Mervyn King. The winner takes on whoever comes out on top in the Suljovic-Evans clash. for more information about the
