Hopp edged out Danny Noppert in a 6-3 win with an 89 average as he aims for another
PDC ranking title to further prove his doubters wrong but he will face a tough test in Robert Thornton who has been the star of the day so far.
He saw off Chris Dobey who himself has had a good weekend with him only stopped yesterday by Michael van Gerwen in a decider who as is known doesn't lose them.
In the other semi-final like alluded to is two inexperienced players compared to Hopp and Thornton in Ward and De Sousa but two players firmly on the rise. 'Big H' has been impressing in his first full season on the tour and now at the age of 21 is into his first final four.
De Sousa came onto the radar at the World Championship and from there he has kept improving steadily and as a result it could be said that this latter stage berth is well deserved.
