Hughes hits 107 average in defeating Portela to continue impressive form, Menzies times out in second round tie against Bain

Hughes has produced these types of averages in his opening few months as a PDC Tour Card holder but not on the big stage until now.
Portela didn’t play badly averaging 101 but just couldn’t match the Tipton ace. There was a strange situation down in the multi-board room.
Cameron Menzies saw off Wes Newton in the first round but no-showed his clash with Jamie Bain meaning hat the Scottish ace had a walkover to the third round.
Among the others making their way into the next round include Gavin Carlin who of course has impressed so far on the Players Championship series.
He will face Glen Durrant in a highly anticipated third round game with ‘Duzza’ heading down to the multi-board room for that clash.
