Huybrechts impressive in victory over Gurney as White misses D12 for 9-darter in win

Kim Huybrechts is the first player through to the Last 16 on the main stage and joins Chris Dobey, Steve West & Ian White already in the draw at the UK Open.
Huybrechts hit four 180’s and 58% on his doubles in his victory as the Belgian improves his chances of a first TV title this weekend.
Also through is Ian White, ‘Diamond’ defeated Jamie Hughes 10-8 despite trailing throughout the contest. He roared back though and also missed D12 for a 9-darter. He also averaged 102 in his win.
Joining him is Chris Dobey, ‘Hollywood’ showed his star power smashing through Jason Lowe. Also Steve West defeated Matthew Edgar with a 170 checkout en-route.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
