Ian White dumped out Raymond van Barneveld in the first game on the main stage of the evening. He made it 4/4 against the 5 time champion of the world and wrapped up a hard fought win in a decider 6-4. He averaged 95.2 and hit five 180's and was deserving of the dramatic victory.
Mensur Suljovic in the second game on the main stage lived up to his ranking and smashed the debutant Andy Boulton 6-0. Boulton never got anywhere near the standard we have seen him play at times on the Euro Tour and Mensur made short work of X-Factor witha 92 average to safely progress through to the next round.
Meanwhile on Stage 2, Simon Whitlock safely progressed with a win over Christian Kist. He progressed in a 6-3 win that despite not being amazing from either with Whitlock averaging just under 90 was a quite safe progression against Kist who struggled at times.
Also on Stage 2, 'The Iceman' Gerwyn Price despite looking like a dead cert to defeat Jimmy Hendriks quite easily at times had to eventually seal his spot in a scrappy 6-4 encounter with 'Captain Jimmy' falling by the wayside with no shock in the second game of the night on Board 2.
