Noel Malicdem secured his first PDC World Championship win on his first ever Ally Pally outing.

The Philippines ace secured a 3-2 win over Jeffrey de Graaf in a tense battle. It means that the PDC Asian Tour graduate enters the second round, just as Seigo Asada did. Malicdem told Live Darts of his delight at a maiden PDC World Championship success.
"I feel good, I feel happy," he said with the aid of a translator.
He faces Kyle Anderson in round two. The 41-year-old indicated that he'll be doing his best to usurp the Australian seed.
Malicdem, who exclusively plays steel tip darts despite the dominance of soft tip darts in the Asian game, shared his opinion that the former is the superior game.
