Van den Bergh will face James Wade and Mardle doesn’t know what to make of him. He believes he’s being too erratic and isn’t concentrating.
‘I have absolutely no idea what to make of Van den Bergh. I've got no idea. We keep hearing he's a big stage player but I'm not even sure anymore. You watch him enough and you'll realise he has brilliant games on stage, but you also realise that he has bad games on stage.
‘James Wade is a far superior darts player to
Dimitri van den Bergh and if they both play their standard game then I think James Wade wins. If they both play well then I think James Wade wins. If they both play poorly, I think James Wade wins,’ said Mardle to Sky Sports.
‘Van den Bergh is acting erratic in a lot of matches and he really needs to calm down a little. He's been doing odd things for a while. He's clearly not concentrating on the game and that's what he really needs to do,’ he added.
