Meikle ‘relieved to win’ after having ‘awful journey’ to Munich

Ryan Meikle is through to today’s second round action in Munich at the German Darts Grand Prix by defeating Scott Taylor. It wasn’t the best game by either player but Meikle came through to set up a tie with Daryl Gurney.

He spoke afterwards admitting after having an awful journey to Munich he is relieved to win. The Suffolk ace was part of the group of players who had problems getting there due to a fire at Stansted.
Meikle then went on to talk about Gurney admitting he can enjoy playing him as there is no pressure on him.
"It was an awful journey," said Meikle. "It seems like I've had a lot of bad luck on the European Tour so I'm relieved to win.
"I'm looking forward to playing Daryl, he's playing very well but there's no pressure on me now so I can turn up and enjoy it. I can't wait."
