Mensur Suljovic came from a set down and on the verge of being knocked out of the World Grand Prix to win and get through to the second round. 'The Gentle' who has had a brilliant September is looking to start October by winning another TV title and with the field blown wide open it could happen.
White started off with a brilliant start hitting a 180 and following it up with a 160 checkout in the first leg. White then took out 84 to double his lead.
White took the set against an out of sorts Suljovic winning 3-1. Suljovic came back with a leg including a 177 and finished off with a D10 to take the opening leg.
He doubled his lead with a 94 checkout but White hit a 63 finish to halve the deficit. Mensur was on the verge of going out as White broke with an 87 checkout to go one away from the finishing line but he held his nerve to win the set to send it into a decider.
Suljovic went into the lead for the first time in the decider hitting tops. He then hit 60 to continue his turnaround and go one away from victory.
He finished this turnaround off to get through to the next round after being on the ropes.
