Simon Whitlock through in high quality contest against Kist

Simon Whitlock started his World Grand Prix campaign with a win on night 2 against Christian Kist, 'The Wizard' had a high quality affair with the former Lakeside champion coming through 2-1 with every set going to a decider.
Kist started the opening leg with a 68 checkout for a 1-0 lead. Whitlock came back and hit double top to level it in the early goings.
Kist regained the lead hitting double D4 to make it 2-1. In a closely contested first set, Whitlock pulled it back hitting D10. Kist though hit tops to win the first set by 3 legs to 2.
Whitlock came back though and pinned D10 for a lead in the opening leg of the second set. Kist like in the previous set fired back to make it 1-1.
For an eighth leg in the row it went with throw with Whitlock producing a 180 and tops for a 2-1 lead. It took Kist ages to get off and he paid for it conceding the set to Whitlock to take it to a decider.
Whitlock started well in set 3 hitting a 153 checkout for a 12 darter and the first leg. Kist broke back hitting tops to make it 1-1. He then landed D10 to edge towards victory but in a high quality affair Whitlock sent it to a decider.
Whitlock got over the line defeating Christian Kist by 2 sets to one with a 108 checkout to win after surviving a match dart from the Dutchman.
