He dropped just 11 legs in the process smashing the likes of Kim Huybrechts and Robert Thornton as well as claiming wins against the likes of Gerwyn Price and Josh Payne on his way to the title.
The run came from nowhere for Mansell who went out in the first round yesterday and reached the latter stages of one of the qualifiers on Friday.
In the 6-4 win he averaged 97.9 to Lewis's 90 in probably the best moment of the Northern Irishman's career in the PDC so far.
