Kevin Painter claimed a nervy win over Vincent van der Voort in his return to the European Tour at the Dutch Darts Championship.

Painter went 3-1 up but missed doubles hampered him with Van der Voort going on to miss two match darts.
‘The Artist’ claimed the win though with a 92 finish as he reaches Day 2.
Also reaching day 2 is Ross Smith. ‘Smudger’ saw off Rusty Jake Rodriguez after coming from 2-0 down reeling off six consecutive legs.
Smith has looked impressive in his return to the PDC Tour and this has continued in Maastricht.
Finally also impressive was Arron Monk who himself came from 2-0 down. He only allowed Thornton another leg as he claimed a comprehensive 6-3 victory.
