The rules are very simple. Every Premier League Darts week, they will predict the results of that week's play. Choosing the right winner will yield one point, while predicting a correct scoreline earns them three. There is no Judgement Night for our eight predictors. However, they will all play along until the play-offs at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday 17 May. Whoever has collected the most points after play concludes will be the first VIP prediction competition champion. We will announce the eight entrants today. Chris Mason is a former professional darts player. 'Mace the Ace' reached the semi final at Lakeside twice. He also reached the quarter-final at the
PDC World Darts Championship in 2003. Mason now works as a darts analyst and darts commentator for ITV. Mason is also an analyst on behalf of BT Sport at Lakeside. Jerry Hendriks felt like a fish on the stage during his second World Championship appearance and he will make sure he will feel comfortable during this competition as well. 'Electric' is a two-time World Championship competitor. He reached the Last 32 in 2013, where he lost to Phil Taylor in the second round. Back in 2003, Hendriks won the WDF World Youth Cup. The Dutchman has a daily job in darts as well, he is account manager for Embassy Sports Germany in the Benelux. Keith Deller lifted the Lakeside trophy in 1983, is he going to add another prestigious title to his trophy cabinet? His checkout of 138 to clinch the Lakeside trophy is amongst the most memorable in darting history. Bristow had left himself 50 to stay in the match, but decided to throw for single 18 to leave double 16 instead of a more difficult attempt at the bullseye. Deller then hit treble 20, treble 18, double 12 for the world championship title. Even to this day commentators often refer to 138 as the "Deller checkout" if a player is left with that score. Deller has for many years been part of the Sky Sports broadcasting team acting as a "spotter" for the cameras. 'The Fella' is also known as Adrian Lewis' manager. The fourth competitor is Ron Meulenkamp. 'The Bomb' missed qualification for the World Championship after losing in the quarter-finals of the PDPA-Qualifier. However, he was one of the pundits on RTL 7 (Dutch broadcaster) during the World Championship. The 29-year-old Dutchman has four World Championship appearances to his name. He played at Lakeside in 2012 and 2014. He made his PDC World Championship debut in 2015, before returning to Ally Pally in 2017. Kim Huybrechts is the fifth player to join us in this contest. The Hurricane is the Belgian representative in this competition. This way Huybrechts is still involved around the Premier League, but it will be from the sideline this year. After receiving invitations in 2015 and 2017, he didn't get a third chance to prove himself in the Premier League. At least the 32-year-old from Antwerpen has some experience with analyzing matches. He has worked as a pundit for RTL 7 (Dutch broadcaster) in the past. Mark Webster received an invitation for the Premier League Darts in 2008. Ten years later, he get the chance to show his talents as a predictor. Webby received a wildcard for the Premier League in 2008 after winning Lakeside. The Welshman has already gained some experience as a darts expert. Webster worked for the BBC as a pundit during the Champions League of Darts in Cardiff. Vincent van der Voort has been one of the familiar faces behind the desk in the Dutch darts studio on RTL 7. Analyzing matches is not a problem for him, but now he has to show his predictive skills. Fast Vinnie has not played in the Premier League himself yet. In 2015 he was very close to receive a wildcard after reaching the semi finals at the Players Championship Finals and the quarterfinals at the World Championship. Van der Voort's run was ended by Taylor, who beat him 5-3. A win in that game would probably have been enough to seal a Premier League debut.
