The Flying Scotsman defeated the world champion on his way to taking the UK Open title in Minehead. The pair will clash in the last 16 with Players Championship 3 victory possibly in the balance. Anderson overcame Simon Stevenson 6-4 in a last 32 tie, while Cross averaged 102 in a 6-3 success over Mario Robbe.
Peter Wright once again needed an 11th leg decider to win, seeing off Jermaine Wattimena narrowly. Fresh from hitting a nine-darter in the last round, Jamie Lewis thrashed Stephen Bunting 6-2. But Daryl Gurney bowed out, losing 6-4 to Jeffrey de Graaf. Gerwyn Price almost went the same way as Gurney. The Welshman was 5-4 down against Ryan Joyce, but rallied to win 6-5.
