The afternoon session saw eight players safely navigate their way to the second round. Now there are eight more ties to see who else can extend their Dutch Darts Championship stay until Saturday at least. A couple of
PDC major winners are in the mix this evening, as well as three more Dutch hopefuls.
Jeffrey de Zwaan is one of those hoping to prevail on his own turf. The youngster takes on the much more experience Wayne Jones. Another Jeffrey, this time de Graaf, meets Paul Nicholson in the second tie. Neither Dawson Murschell nor Ritchie Edhouse has won a game on the
European Tour this year. That will change for one of them at the Dutch Darts Championship.
Vincent van der Voort enjoyed flashes of brilliance at Players Championship 18, hitting
one nine-darter and narrowly missing another. Some more of that would be much welcomed in a first round meeting with Kevin Painter. Rusty-Jake, another of the Rodriguez clan, will be looking to improve on Rowby-John's afternoon performance when he plays Ross Smith.
Robert Thornton plays Arron Monk before Kyle Anderson takes on Christian Bunse. The final tie is, on paper, up there with the best of them. James Wilson, fresh from reaching the German Darts Championship, clashes with Cristo Reyes.
Play in Maastricht starts at 6.15pm BST, with PDC TV showing every game live.
