Neither Gary Anderson, Rob Cross nor Mensur Suljovic made the trip to Maastricht. But there are still plenty of candidates for Dutch Darts Championship glory - and not just among the usual suspects in the top echelons of the
PDC Order of Merit, either.
Max Hopp has already won on the
European Tour this year. He hasn't had the same impact since however, and could do with a win over Ross Smith. After knocking out Robert Thornton, Arron Monk has Ian White in his sights. And in the third tie of the evening, James Wade meets Ritchie Edhouse.
Ryan Searle has had quite a good week. It'd get even better if the Players Championship 18 runner-up could beat Players Championship 17 runner-up Daryl Gurney. Peter Wright took that PC17 crown. It could be two titles out of two for Snakebite this week. First of all, he'll need to do what Vincent van der Voort couldn't, and beat Kevin Painter in Maastricht.
In a repeat of the European Darts Matchplay final, Michael van Gerwen takes on William O'Connor, before Jonny Clayton and Kyle Anderson do battle. The night is rounded off by another Australian, Simon Whitlock, as he faces Cristo Reyes.
