PDC German Darts Championship schedule, Sunday afternoon session

There are 16 players still gunning for European Tour glory at the PDC German Darts Championship.
Already, the competition has provided some of the best European Tour action this year. Dave Chisnall smashed in a record 118 average - the second-highest in PDC competition this year. Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross also smashed in 109 and 108 averages respectively. James Wilson, like Kyle Anderson before him, was a whisker away from a nine-darter. There's sure to be lots more high quality darts before the German Darts Championship winner is revealed.
The afternoon session in Hildesheim starts with a surprise package, Austrian ace Michael Rasztovits. His opponent, Rob Cross, remembers vividly what it's like to be a wildcard. Despite a great showing against Anderson on Saturday, he almost fell short, so he'll need to be careful. Rasztovits' compatriot Mensur Suljovic faces a tricky tie against Darren Webster in the second game.
Wilson's reward for beating Jonny Clayton is a meeting with Robert Thornton, who saw off James Wade himself. Then Michael Smith is tasked with stopping Ron Meulenkamp, who looks in hot form this weekend. Daryl Gurney and Adrian Lewis go head-to-head afterwards in a real clash of heavyweights.
Erratic genius meets unerring consistency in the next tie, with Joe Cullen needing to bear Jan Dekker in order to make another quarter-final. Chisnall, arguably the top performer at the German Darts Championship so far, is in the penultimate game. His opponent is the evergreen Terry Jenkins, who has flown under the radar so far but is playing well. In the last tie, van Gerwen will have to play without the crowd pulling in his favour. The German faithful will be backing Martin Schindler, the last remaining homegrown hope, to the hilt.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I blame the PDC to a certain extent though doubt they really care as they win regardless of which player wins or loses.Mysstree16-11-2024

I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
