PDC Order of Merit updated: Wright drops out top five for first time since 2014

The PDC Order of Merit has been updated after the latest European Tour event in the form of the Austrian Darts Open in Graz with Peter Wright falling out of the top five being the big talking point.
Wright has been in the top five since 2014 and has now slid down to number six in the world showing the drop in form ‘Snakebite’ has had as well as money that he won two years ago when he was in really good form dropping off.
Michael Smith as a result has now taken his position despite 'Bully Boy' himself not being in the best form as of late. Nathan Aspinall continues his march towards the top ten with 'The Asp' swapping round positions with Jonny Clayton.
Steve Beaton has gone up one place as well with him rolling back the years as of late meaning he sits in 19th place. Raymond van Barneveld is also rising again with him swapping positions with Dimitri van den Bergh from 31st to 29th.
William O'Connor and Jeffrey de Zwaan both won titles last week and this progress has been shown on the Order of Merit too. O'Connor has risen from 52nd to 47th in a title win that will not only potentially give him his place in multiple majors but also seal his Tour Card for 2020 already. Further up, De Zwaan with his win edges closer to the top 32 as he sits on 35th now.

- It is simply not true to say that these 5 players are guaranteed to keep their Tour Cards. At least Karel Sedlacek, Dylan Slavin and Stephen Burton are in danger of losing them, especially if they fail to win their first round match. Connor Scutt, Wesley Plaisier and the three mentioned players will be fighting hard for their Tour Cards.mxxiv27-11-2024
