Suljovic himself came into this tournament off the back of defeating Wright 7-1 in the Premier League and ended up defeating Michael Barnard 6-2. Wright started his Players Championship weekend by defeating Chris Quantock 6-3.
Wright is number 1 seed this weekend after Michael van Gerwen decided to play exhibitions and have the weekend off competitive darts. That is alongside Raymond van Barneveld.
Also through is the likes of Dave Chisnall, Daryl Gurney & Gary Anderson as some of the big names are in action this weekend. The likes of James Wade and Kyle Anderson are out though with Wade in particular falling to Ricky Evans in a whitewash win for the Kettering native.
