POLL: Vote for ‘Player of the Month’ for May

As part of a new monthly poll you can decide the Player of the Month. Michael van Gerwen, Mensur Suljovic & Dimitri van den Bergh are the four nominees for the honorary title awarded on the basis of performance in May.

Every month, visitors to this website may decide which darts player will be awarded this prestigious award. The editors of Dartsnews.com select three nominees, after which you can select the Player of the Month by means of a poll! For the third year in a row, Michael van Gerwen won the Premier League. Van Gerwen started the evening with a 10-6 victory over reigning world champion Rob Cross. Then Michael Smith in the final 11-4. Against Smith, the World Number One threw an average of no less than 112. Furthermore, 'Mighty Mike' was victorious twice at a Euro Tour tournament in May. The two-time world champion was the winner at the European Darts Grand Prix and the Dutch Darts Masters. Mensur Suljovic was the winner of a TV tournament for the second time last month. 'The Gentle' won a historic edition of the German Darts Masters, which was attended by more than twenty thousand spectators. The Austrian defeated Robert Marijanovic, Rob Cross, Peter Wright and Dimitri van den Bergh on the way to the title. Dimitri van den Bergh also had a brilliant German Darts Masters. The Belgian started the tournament with a resounding 6-0 victory over Martin Schindler, where the youth world champion threw a 110 average. 'The Dreammaker' continued the tournament with a surprise 8-3 victory over Michael van Gerwen. After an 8-7 victory over Gary Anderson in the semi-finals, Van den Bergh lost in the final against Suljovic. The poll closes at 22:00 on Sunday 24 June [poll id="5"]
