Price saw off Danny Noppert in a fiery contest with both players especially the Iceman creating needle. It was a straight sets win but like White in the previous match it was the final set that went the distance.
The Welshman claimed the first set 3-1 with Noppert only able to average 72. When they returned, Noppert claimed the first leg astonishingly with a 28 darter on Double 2.
Price came back to square it up at 1-1 with an 80 finish before a brilliant 108 finish with Shanghai on the 18’s from Noppie. It was the case though of anything you can do I can do better and the resurgent Price smashed in a 112 finish giving a huge roar in the process. In the end, it was the recent first time European Tour winner who came through though seeing off the debuting Dutchman.
In the next game, it saw
Peter Wright not drop any legs on the way to a stunning win over Steve West. Wright breezed through the first set averaging 104 and hitting 75% on his doubles giving ‘Simply’ no chance.
Wright similarly dispatched of the second set albeit in less clinical style to move through. Overall it was a 98 average with 60% on the doubles and a high checkout of 124 as Snakebite sends a message to the rest of the field with one of the best performances so far.
