As well as the race to the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix, the race to the World Championship is very much on with a lot of spots still up for grabs and not confirmed for the showpiece event in December.
Higher up in the table, Ian White goes to ninth seed which will be a welcome boost for the Stoke ace; who of course could go even higher depending on if he can keep his form together before the event. Brendan Dolan has put himself into a provisional spot further down as well; as he moves himself into contention at 54th place after a third round run. Mickey Mansell and Ritchie Edhouse have also put themselves further into the top 12 of the ProTour Order of Merit who currently qualify; this is headed up by Glen Durrant who has all but confirmed his debut at the Alexandra Palace. Jan Dekker, Devon Petersen and Robert Thornton are among the players currently sitting outside the qualification spots meaning a good few months is needed by them to put themselves back into the running. Despite there being a number of months before the field is confirmed, it is already hotting up with places changing all the time meaning there could be one or two surprise names taking to the stage at the end of season event.
