In defeating Michael van Gerwen this past weekend for the Dutch Darts Masters title, Ian White ended MVG's five year run as champion in the tournament and as well a four year run of winning in last leg deciders on the European Tour.

This streak started against Kevin Painter in 2015 at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy; it has continued ever since then. This has especially been highlighted recently by commentators and statisticians putting more emphasis on this run.
It has now been ended though on 28 matches unbeaten; with White holding his nerve to not only end the streak but to win the title in front of a hostile crowd.
In these deciding legs, he has never gone above 16 darts to win a decider and astonishingly 14 of the streak were with his throw and of course the rest were against throw meaning an even ratio.
