'It was really tough to see Berry struggling' - Gary Anderson after group stage win over Berry van Peer

Gary Anderson won 5-1 against Berry van Peer yesterday to book his place in the Last 16 with a 111 average but this performance wasn't the main focus with Berry's struggles with Dartitis continuing which produced tears from the young Dutchman on stage and once again showed how brave he is and Gary said afterwards how glad he is to be through but how tough it is to see 'Bionic' go through what he's going through.
"I'm obviously glad to be through but it was really tough to see Berry struggling like that," said Anderson. "He's a young lad who he was trying his best and it's hard for him.
"I had to try and concentrate on my own game and I did that pretty well, but I've still got to focus on the last match because I want to qualify as a Group Winner."

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
