Berry van Peer has continued his remarkable story at the Wolves Civic by beating Cameron Menzies 5-4 to reach the Last 16 in the Grand Slam. 'Bionic' broke the heart of Menzies who had multiple match darts to win through, his dartitis wasn't as bad as against Anderson which helped the World Youth runner up and the crowd's support also and this will continue in the Last 16.
Gary Anderson won the first match of the night to make a clean sweep in Wolverhampton. He defeated Simon Whitlock who lost to the other 3 players in the group and finished bottom as a result. 'The Flying Scotsman' won 5-2 and averaged 104.7, hit five 180's and had 5/7 on the doubles to continue his blistering run of form after having a while off due to not qualifying for certain events and reaching a final at the World Series of Darts Finals, something he will want to do after finishing the group as well as he started it.
