Whitlock came through against Mark Webster who was having his best run in a number of years. He averaged 94 to Webster's 88 in a 6-3 win for the Premier League player.
He faces a tough semi-final though against
Adrian Lewis who reached the final of Players Championship 7 yesterday. Lewis overcame James Wilson 6-2 to set that up.
In the other semi-final though it could gleam a surprise winner,
Mickey Mansell has had a day to remember and has continued that with a 6-3 win over Gerwyn Price averaging 93. It was a game that was stopped for a while due to Price complaining of tape being crunched by the Cyclone on the floor but Mansell came through.
He will face
Josh Payne who is a former ranking winner of course and came through a close clash with Toni Alcinas as his return to form continues.
