Preview & Schedule quarter-finals Auckland Darts Masters

The last 8 of this years Auckland Darts Masters will feature Kyle Anderson and Corey Cadby alongside a group of PDC Stars including Phil Taylor and Raymond Van Barneveld. The two Australians provided the only shocks of today's first round. "The Original's" win, over the reigning champion Gary Anderson, was less surprising in view of his recent superb form. Tomorrows four matches will feature clashes between two generations of darting talent. Taylor, Barney, Wade and Whitlock will represent the old guard, while Anderson, Gurney, Smith and Cadby demonstrate the new talent surging through the game. Kyle Anderson vs Simon Whitlock should be enough enthuse the crowd. These two recently met in the World Matchplay with The Wizard triumphing 10-5. However Anderson leads head to head. and national bragging rights will add spice. James Wade was less than inspired in his first round effort and will find Daryl Gurney a far tougher prospect. Gurney is in superb shape after recent stellar performances at The World Matchplay. Wade should not be discounted but cannot afford to be at anything other than his best. The clashing of PDC World Youth Champions could provide result in fireworks. Reigning World Youth Champion Corey Cadby repeated his habit of causing early World Series upsets, with an impressive win over Peter Wright. His reward is a clash with Micheal Smith. Both of these guys are fearless, have explosive talent and could provide the match of the round. Completing the quarter-final line up will be another chapter of one of PDC darts longest and best rivalries. Phil "The Power" Taylor will take on Raymond Van Barneveld for the 60th time in 27 years. Each encounter could now be be the last, so we hope for another gripping encounter befitting one of the games great rivalries.
