It was six 180's and a 97.4 average as Smith showed no signs of jet lag after his Shanghai Darts Masters victory last weekend.
He did say though last week that the next step was a major and now Michael van Gerwen is out he will hope to deliver on that promise something he didn't do at the UK Open when the field was blown wide open.
Also in doing so he avoids a potential scalp from the Ferret who was one of the main banana skins of the first round due to his form this year which has seen him claim a European Tour title for the first time.
