Michael Smith made a sensational comeback to defeat world champion Rob Cross in the quarter-finals of the Melbourne Darts Masters.

The former World Youth Champion came back from a 6-9 deficit to reach the semi-finals of the World Series event in Melbourne. Smith produced 120, 107, 99 and 122 finishes to complete a comeback and edge out Cross.
“The last four legs were great, I couldn’t really ask for a better finish to a match.
“I always believe. So I wasn’t too worried when I was behind but my finishes weren’t good enough at the start.
“I kept missing chances to level the match and putting in bad scores when it mattered but in the end it all came good,” said Smith.
The 27-year-old from St. Helens will face Gary Anderson in the semi-finals on Sunday.
