Mensur Suljovic has reached his maiden semi-final at the World Matchplay. 'The Gentle' edged out Darren Webster in the Winter Gardens on Friday evening.

Suljovic opened convincingly with a 4-1 lead, but collapsed after the first break. Webster came back from a three legs deficit and went into the second break with a 5-5 tie.
It rained break of throws in the third and fourth session. The Austrian managed to break the Norwich Ace three times, while Webster broke back twice. Suljovic took a 11-9 lead and extended his lead with a 12-dart leg.
'The Demolition Man' hit back with a 116 checkout. However, Suljovic took over the momentum again with a 122 finish, 13-dart leg and an 11-dart leg and came one leg away from victory.
Webster started the 26th leg, but was not able to reduce the deficit. 'The Gentle' hit double 18 for a 13-dart leg and will return on stage on Saturday for the semi-finals of the World Matchplay.
