Peter Wright produced a very solid performance to move into the semi-final of the World Matchplay. The world number two only dropped five legs in a convincing 16-5 victory over Simon Whitlock.

A bad start from Whitlock led to a 5-0 lead for Wright. 'The Wizard' claimed his first leg in the sixth leg, before the Scotsman extended his lead to 11-2 in the last quarter final of the World Matchplay.
The Australian Ace managed to win another two legs before the third break, but saw Wright winning four legs on the spin to move on the brick of a semi-final spot. Whitlock managed to win one more leg, before the former UK Open champion claimed his third semi-final spot in Blackpool.
'Snakebite' will face Mensur Suljovic in the semi-finals on Saturday night. Two-time world champion Gary Anderson faces Jeffrey de Zwaan.
