Suzuki dumped out the defending champion Ashton in a straight sets victory by the Japanese ace.
It was highly anticipated game before it begun and it did not disappoint especially on the side of Suzuki who is highly rated.
She raced to the first two legs but only just came through in a deciding leg to claim the first set.
Ashton claimed two legs to open the set up but once again it would once again go to a decider. Suzuki came through that to win in straight sets.
Whitehead and Phillips then played out a really close clash which saw both players evenly matched as the score line suggests.
It was ‘The Barbarian’ who came through though seeing off the Welsh veteran in s tie break decider.
