WORLDCUPSF VBARNEVELD1

The World Cup of Darts had it's latest installment this past weekend in Frankfurt with Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld claiming the title for the Netherlands once again. They defeated Scotland's pairing of Peter Wright and Gary Anderson in order to do so.

After the event, the PDC have collated the top five moments from this years' tournament in what was a thrilling edition of the World Cup of Darts.
Number five came right at the start of the tournament with Spain on the brink against Russia. The Russian pairing of Boris Koltsov and Aleksandr Oreshkin, experienced hands in this format were sat on a finish to win only for Toni Alcinas to smash in a 136 checkout to send the Spanish team through.

Similarly for number four, Northern Ireland took out a clutch finish in the first round knowing anything less could see them dumped out. Gurney was on 101 and converted to bring together a brilliant comeback from 4-2 down against the Polish duo of Krzysztof Ratajski and Tytus Kanik.

Number three saw instead of a clutch finish from the other team, a team holding on in the form of Belgium who were one of the shining lights in the tournament. Dimitri van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts saw the Republic of Ireland pairing of William O'Connor and Steve Lennon miss 170 before finishing the job off.

Number two saw a sublime leg of darts between Martin Schindler and Michael van Gerwen. Schindler and Hopp had the Dutch duo standing in front of them potentially claiming the title. Despite Schindler hitting a 110 average, this still wasn't enough to slay the World Number One and this leg of darts proved how good both players are.
