Larry Butler is recovering from a serious heart attack after being rushed into hospital yesterday and according to reports is in a critical but stable condition with more surgery planned today.
Butler is known as one of if not the best players to come from the USA; with him listing the inaugural World Matchplay in 1994 as part of his vast array of achievements. Only this past weekend; he was playing with Darin Young in the PDC World Cup of Darts which makes this even more of a shock.
Young as well as the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Raymond van Barneveld and Kim Huybrechts all posted get well soon messages on social media with the darting world shocked and saddened at this news.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
