Van Barneveld takes revenge with win over Cadby

Raymond van Barneveld prevailed in an intense match against Corey Cadby as Gary Anderson also progressed.
Van Barneveld had the better start of the two as he grabbed a 3-0 lead by hitting double fourteen, twenty and ten in decent legs. Cadby then found his range and hit back-to-back twelve- and thirteen darters to come back to 3-2. 'The King' then went off the boil again, however, allowing 'Barney' to increase his advantage to 5-2. After the five-time world champion missed a dart at double eighteen for a 101-checkout and the match, Cadby responded by storming back to 5-4. With Van Barneveld in the driver's seat in leg ten, the youngster hit a 180 followed by a 161-finish to come back from nowhere to force a decider in a leg that saw 'RVB' miss two more darts. The Dutchman then kept his cool, hit a 180, and checked out on double four to complete an incredible win and take revenge for his defeat to Cadby in Melbourne.
Anderson punished Rob Szabo's inability to check out in the first two legs as he raced into a 2-0 lead. A 15-dart-leg was then followed up by seven perfect darts, with the two-time world champion missing treble nineteen in his bid for perfection. After the Scot had made it 5-0, he seemed to be cruising towards a whitewash win. Anderson missed all five of his attempts at doubles, however, as Szabo finally managed to take a leg on double four. The world-number-two recovered in the next leg to triumph 6-1.
