In his interview with Live Darts, he spoke in depth about his change of equipment; as well and how that has helped him in his search for a return to form.
“I’m feeling really good, I changed darts and in practice I played so well but when then I came two (sets) in front and I was thinking for the first time I’d win three-nil but after that he played really well,” said Van De Pas.
On whether he switched off when he went to two-nil, he agreed he did but was happy that he won the game.
“Yeah third set I didn’t play good but in the fourth I got three match darts I was thinking I’m going to do it for my son and I missed. I was happy though that he missed one match dart and I won the game.”
Van de Pas was using new darts and whether he was starting to see the benefits; he agreed that he was especially on the bounce outs.
“I practiced really well with the darts, I think I only had one bounceout in the second leg, usually I have five per set I’m improving in that.”
Further on to that he said that these darts are now here to stay after a rigorous process to pick them in the first place.
“My sponsor came to me with fifty sets of darts and we tried them in three days. I chose this set. All the old sets are gone these are the only ones I’ve got.”
