GRANDPRIX FNL VANGERWEN48

The next tournament on the agenda starts this weekend in the form of the World Grand Prix and Michael van Gerwen has been installed as the pre tournament favourite.

This is no surprise given his world number one status but over the past few months Van Gerwen has struggled to reach the heights in TV tournaments. This was underlined by his recent loss in the semi-finals of the Champions League to Peter Wright.
Last year he was knocked out early by John Henderson in round one but this year he will want to put it right. He is seen as the 6/5 favourite with Gary Anderson second with 11/2.
The top few players odds wise include Peter Wright (6/1), Rob Cross (9/1) and Mensur Suljovic (18/1). Suljovic could be seen by many as a good punt due to his tendency to go late in TV tournaments.
The format is unforgiving though with Daryl Gurney, the surprise winner last year so it could end up being another surprise name from the odds below.
