World number 1
Michael van Gerwen is odds on favourite to lift the Champions League of Darts title in Cardiff this weekend.
Mighty Mike can be found as short as 8/11 with some bookmakers as he looks to continue his run of fine form. Gary Anderson is second favourite for the title, with last years champion Phil Taylor third favourite.
Taylor caused controversy last week by opting to withdraw from the World Grand Prix at the start of October but will head into the event full of optimism. The Power has played in one
PDC ranking event all year, and picked up the £115,000 top prize for victory at the World Matchplay, beating Michael van Gerwen on his way to his 16th title. Taylor also defeated the world number 1 twice in this event last year, once in the group stage, and again in the final.
The Champions league gets underway on Saturday afternoon with the first round of group stages. UK coverage can be found on the BBC.
