Michael van Gerwen reached the semi-finals at the European Darts Open after a thriller against Gerwyn Price. The Dutchman survived one match-dart in the leg-decider, as 'Mighty Mike' keeps his unbeaten streak against 'The Iceman'.
The world number one took a 3-1 lead with 127 and 132 finishes. Price broke back in the eighth leg with a 65 checkout and hit double 10 to move one leg away from victory.
Van Gerwen leveled the match with a 13-dart leg and forced a leg-decider. Price had the throw in the last leg and left 57 after twelve darts. However, Price only gave himself one match-dart after missing the single 17 with his first dart. He missed double 20 and Van Gerwen took out 118 to seal the win and book his place in the semi-finals.
The three-time world champion faces
Mensur Suljovic in the semi-finals. After Wade had a 2-0 lead, 'The Gentle' won six legs on the spin to move into the next round.
