Wayne Mardle thinks Van Gerwen-Gurney clash will be an 'intriguing encounter'

Gurney has had Van Gerwen's number for a lot of the competition this year beating him twice; and Wayne Mardle has given his view ahead of their clash. He admits that Gurney makes MVG panic; and as a result it's an intriguing clash. Despite that though he sees the night being made for Van Gerwen; and that he has what it takes to win again. 'I think this is more of a talking point - the fact that Daryl Gurney beat Michael van Gerwen in the final of the Players Championship, in what is a very, very similar format to what they're going to play in the semi-finals,' said Mardle to Sky Sports.
