Darren Webster is the first player through in the afternoon session of day two of the World Matchplay and he has seen off Steve Lennon, a debutant in the tournament in the process.

Webster didn't play to his full best but his scoring compared to Lennon's gave him the victory with the young Irishman getting legs on the board but never looked like testing the Demolition Man.
In terms of statistics, it was a 91.95 average, 33% checkout percentage with 3 180's for the now top 16 player who will face either Rob Cross or Mervyn King in the second round.
