Ian White is through to round two of the World Matchplay after a hard fought victory over Max Hopp on day two at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

The match started horrifically for both players with multiple busts from Hopp and the leg being completed in 23 darts by White but when they started to get into their rhythm it proved to be an entertaining clash.
Hopp missed late chances to potentially pull ahead and White took advantage to full effect to win 10-7. In the end it was a 92 average, 24% on doubles with a brilliant 8 maximums for 'Diamond'.
He is in the good half of the draw so could be in for a good run in Blackpool this week. He will face either Mensur Suljovic or Steve Beaton who will face off on Sunday evening.
