West overcomes Alcinas, Smith returns to Gibraltar Darts Trophy with win over Lewis

The afternoon session of Day 1 of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy has come to a close with Steve West and Ross Smith claiming wins over Toni Alcinas and Jamie Lewis respectively.

West hit four 180's in a 6-3 victory over Toni Alcinas to seal his spot in the Last 32 at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy where 'Simply' will face off against Darren Webster tomorrow.
Smith returned to the sight of his European Tour 9-darter 5 years ago which of course was the last one to be hit starting his own curse which he paid homage to on the back of his dart shirt with the hashtag 'The Curse of Ross Smith'. There wasn't a curse though results wise with him overcoming Jamie Lewis in a good performance from 'Smudger'.
