Simon Whitlock avoided an early exit at the Austrian Darts Open. The Australian came 1-3 down against Adam Hunt, before Whitlock won five of the next six legs.

Hunt had enough chances to beat 'The Wizard', but missing fourteen doubles cost him the game. Richie Burnett was close to an upset, as the former Lakeside champion missed one dart on the bullseye to defeat Darren Webster. 'The Demolition Man' levelled the match to five all, before hitting a 15-dart leg in the decider. Daryl Gurney defeated Ron Meulenkamp 6-3 to reach the last 16 round in Graz.
