Winstanley spoke afterwards and said that she was pleased to get over the line against a tough opponent.
‘I am really pleased to get over the line. I'm noot going to lie, I was a bit twitchy when the draw came out and I saw I was playing Casey (Gallagher), purely on the strength of her result at the World Masters back in October,’ said Winstanley.
On the game itself, the Buxton ace admitted that it wasn’t the best and that she put a bit too much pressure on herself.
‘It wasn’t the best game and I think I put a lot of pressure on myself. It looked a bit messy but I got there.’
Finally on navigating over the first hurdle, she said that as a result she feels more relaxed now than before.
‘I feel a bit more relaxed, nobody likes the first round, I don’t care what anyone says the first round is always the hardest.’
