Wright beats Cullen with 75% double percentage, will face Wade who defeats King

The semi final line up is complete with Michael van Gerwen vs Richard North and Peter Wright vs James Wade making up the 4 remaining players in Leverkusen battling it out for the European Darts Open title.
'Snakebite' averaged 98.56 with 75% on the doubles (6/8) with a high finish of 121 alongside 2 180's; with Cullen hitting a 101 average himself but was let down with 42% of his doubles finding the target.
Facing Wright will be James Wade who averaged 99 in a 6-4 win over Mervyn King. The resurgence of 'The Machine' continues and that was backed up with 3 180's against an obviously in pain King who you have to think has to get his back sorted in the coming months.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
