Van Gerwen breezes into another Euro Tour final with win over North

Michael van Gerwen is into yet another Euro Tour final as he looks to add to his haul of titles which currently stands at 21. He won 6 out of 12 of the events last year and will be looking to do similar if not better that feat this year.
He smashed Richard North 7-1 who despite averaging 92 just couldn't live with the World Number One who was not at his best at all but has the B game to beat a lot of players.
Underlying how good the weekend has gone for him, Van Gerwen took out a blockbuster 164 checkout to win the match and goes into the final with a 103 average to face either Peter Wright or James Wade.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. - It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I blame the PDC to a certain extent though doubt they really care as they win regardless of which player wins or loses.Mysstree16-11-2024
